ABOUT Kevin
Raised in the small northwest Kansas town of Colby, Kevin learned to sing in junior high school. He credits his choir director, Dan Commerford, with developing his singing ability. He sang in the choir and with other vocal ensembles throughout high school. He was fortunate to travel with the choir to Vienna Austria for the International Music Festival and was selected to the Kansas All-State Choir as a senior.
After high school, Kevin sang at Colby Community College in the choir and with the Sunflower Singers Group. While he was at Kansas State University, he sang with the Kansas State Men’s Glee Club.
Since college, he has sung with various Catholic churches as a cantor. In 2007, Kevin met Mr. Fred Elliff who was organizing a fundraising benefit for the St Anne Catholic Community in Tomball, Texas. Mr. Elliff asked Kevin to work with him in developing a musical group. The group “Cool Freddie E & The Crew“ was soon formed. Cool Freddie E & The Crew have performed all over the Houston area at various events including, private parties, business openings, church and school galas, weddings, and corporate events.
Kevin has sung the United States National Anthem nine times for the Houston Astros, twice solo, and seven times with Cool Freddie E & The Crew. Kevin is a regular solo singer at Mezzanotte Ristorante in Cypress, Texas, at Amore Fine Dining in Montgomery, TX, and at The Empty Glass in Tomball, TX.
The highlights in singing with Cool Freddie E & The Crew have been singing at the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas NV and at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco CA.
Kevin enjoys singing songs recorded by Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra, but is constantly working on new music.
